The Podmore Foundation is proud to announce that Jessa Rogers, a a Wiradjuri woman, Naidoc committee member and Reconciliation scholar at ANU will be the guest speaker at the Podmore Foundation’s eighth annual Spring Lunch, to be held on 25 October at the Royal Canberra Golf Club. On Friday 28 August, 29 Year 12 Yalari students from around Australia met for a celebratory lunch at Duntroon. Podmore Foundation scholarship recipient Larissa (Year 12, Canberra Girls Grammar School) was named the inaugural Yalari valedictorian for 2015. Congratulations to Larissa and all other graduating Yalari scholarship recipients!
18 year old Larissa, Podmore scholarship recipient and Vice-Captain at Canberra Girls Grammar School, was selected as a member of U24 Australian Dragon Boating squad, the “Auroras,” and competed in the 2015 World Championships in Wellend, Canada from 19 to 23 August 2015. During the championships, the team competed against 2500 paddlers from 18 countries and won three gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Congratulations Larissa and the Auroras!
14 year old Sarah–Cait, from Moree NSW, received the Yalari scholarship when she was 12 years old. As a result, she was introduced to the Podmore Foundation through Podmore’s President Bob Breen. During the last two years of study at Canberra Girls Grammar School (CGGS) with mentoring and support from the Podmore Foundation, Sarah-Cait’s confidence, academic work and most of all her running skills have all improved greatly.
Growing up in a small town in Moree, NSW where there is little opportunity for higher education, 14 year old Isabella has just spent two weeks in one of the fastest growing technology countries in the world – Japan – funded by The Podmore Foundation and benefactors.

The Podmore Foundation’s Board proudly announced seven Canberra-based scholarships at the annual Scholarship Presentation Lunch, which was held at the Royal Canberra Golf Club on Sunday 15 March 2015. Scholarships were presented by Professor Mick Dodson, and the special guest speaker was Kyol Blakeney, Podmore’s inaugural scholarship recipient and graduate.
